The Malone Auto Racks Aero Bar Shim Kit corrects a carrier leaning issue created by asymmetrical factory crossbars. By adding two shims per side, the correction allows the kayak or canoe carrier (not included) to sit straight on the roof rack’s crossbars (not included). It improves the carrier’s performance and provides an improved appearance for the carriers. It includes four ¼-inch thick rubber shims and two extended 80mm length bolts. To install: raise carrier and place desired amount of shims under low side (maximum of 2 shims); from the top, pass the 80mm bolt through the carrier and rubber shim(s); lower carrier onto the crossbar and secure with carrier’s t-knobs.
