In 1966, with the recreational vehicle industry booming in Elkhart, Indiana, Bob Moore, Sr. seized upon an opportunity to fill a need in that market. Branching out from the family dry cleaning business, he began manufacturing suspension systems for the trailers that towed RVs. The new company was MORryde. By the 1980s, the company had become an industry leader in motorhome and towable RV suspension systems. With a few secondhand machines, MORryde’s metal fabrication operations started up in the early 1990s. Shortly thereafter, customers asked MORryde to enter the chassis modification and upfit market.
